Dr. Akash Marathakam, currently Professor and Head of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at Sree Gokulam SNGM College of Pharmacy, Kerala, has a distinguished career spanning 16 years, including roles as IQAC Coordinator and Vice Principal at the National College of Pharmacy. With an M.Pharm from Dr. M.G.R. Medical University and a Ph.D. from Annamalai University, he served as subject expert, syllabus committee for Pharm.D., and as a subject expert, syllabus revision committee B.Pharm at the Pharmacy Council of India.He is presently the Academic Council Member at Kerala University of Health Sciences, Kerala. Also he is an approved Ph.D. research guide at KUHS His research interests lie in Phytochemistry, Drug Design, and the Chemistry of Synthetic Drugs, areas where he has made significant contributions through collaborative research, leading to publications with prestigious institutions worldwide. Dr. Marathakam holds four Indian patents and one international patent. He has also authored several book chapters for internationally recognized publishers and has written three textbooks aimed at B.Pharm and D.Pharm students, further cementing his role as an educator and thought leader in the field. He is actively involved in professional organizations, including the International Society for Evolution, Medicine, and Public Health, the American Chemical Society, the Indian Pharmacy Graduates Association, the Kerala Pharmacy Graduates Association, the Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India, and the Indian Pharmaceutical Association. His memberships reflect his commitment to both national and international scientific communities, making him a respected figure in pharmaceutical education and research.
