Dr. Akash Marathakam is Professor and Head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at Sree Gokulam SNGM College of Pharmacy, with over 18 years of experience in pharmaceutical education, research, and academic leadership. He holds an M.Pharm degree from The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University and a Ph.D. from Annamalai University. He has contributed as a subject expert to syllabus committees of the Pharmacy Council of India and currently serves as a Member of the Academic Council of the Kerala University of Health Sciences. His research interests encompass phytochemistry, synthetic medicinal chemistry, and pharmaceutical pedagogy. His academic and research contributions include numerous research publications, several Indian patents, an international patent, multiple book chapters, and four textbooks authored for pharmacy students. Dr. Marathakam is a member of several national and international professional organizations, including the International Society for Evolution, Medicine, and Public Health, the American Chemical Society (ACS), the Indian Pharmacy Graduates’ Association (IPGA), and the Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTI). He currently serves as the Treasurer of the APTI Kerala State Branch
